The essense of gameplay - FlashElement TD


Last few weeks, I stumbled across this game site at smileygamer.com and found a very interesting flash game - FlashElement TD. A Tower defense game designed by David Scott. A Flash based where inspiration is based on the “Element TD” map created for the RTS game Warcraft III. Launched in 2007 and since then it has growth popularity and can be found over many game sites.

I have been playing quite a while and become quite addicted to this game. Why this game so addictive? Well I can say that is the gameplay elements.The aim of the game is to kill all the creatures without letting any of them to get away. Thus player has to place all kinds of towers on the map and upgrading them whenever is possible. There are many challenges in every level and player has to be alert and strategicly place the towers. Lots of interactivity involved, such as to upgrade tower, to unlocked tower. By unlocking you will need 1wood (every 7 levels you get 1 wood for an upgrade). Players can also buy interest rate with 1 wood to gain more point.To increase the life by 1 with every 40 gold. To increase fire and power by selling off your gold. Player can also earn your interest in the bank and so on. The game is getting very fast and tough with creatures swaming out the maze, this is when game go up to 15 levels up.

Normally i will buy the interest rate with first few upgrade and buy fire towers and rockets, these two are the most power attacking defenses. Try not to waste money on water towers which only slow down on enemy with low fire, not very effective at all. When comes to fast flying creatures, I will buy Arrow towers, quite effective to hit fast flying creatures and can upgraded by increasing the power. I also often used Cannon towers, they are good in attacking stubborn creatures with slow fire but good demage. In order to prevent life from running out. Players have to keep as many gold in bank and buy life as needed. Once 20 lifes are finished, the game is over. Here is my score:


What i can say is good ideas are the heart of soul of any good game, strategic planning of games and interactively are something cannot be compromised. Even without a complicated 3d environment, graphics interface, a simple flash based game with presentable graphic interface , sound and only one top angle view can also engage players emotionally. That is the essense of gameplay - FlashElement TD- one of my favourite game
